Why a Community Pharmacist and Ordained Minister left the pharmacy to dispense a different kind of cure.
For years, Dr. Ron Girardin served as a Community Pharmacist. From his vantage point behind the counter, he saw more than just prescriptions; he saw the harsh reality of the American health crisis.
He watched as millions of dollars were spent daily on prescription drugs. He saw that despite medical advancements, heart disease and cancer remained the leading causes of death. He witnessed the silent epidemic of despair, noting that antidepressants were consistently among the top-selling drugs in the country.
Most heartbreaking of all, he saw the financial devastation of illness. He watched patients rely on insurance that wasn’t enough, forcing them into a “trip to the poor house” just to stay alive. He realized that while modern medicine could treat symptoms, it often failed to provide security or peace.
The Minister’s Question
While his hands were filling prescriptions, his heart was asking a difficult question. As an Ordained Minister, Dr. Girardin struggled to reconcile the suffering he saw in the pharmacy with the God he served in the church.
He found himself asking the question that plagues many believers:
“If there is a loving God, then why do so many people find themselves in these kinds of situations?”
He realized that chemistry had limits. Medicine could fight the disease, but it couldn’t remove the fear of the diagnosis. It couldn’t explain why bad health happens to good people.

Dr. Girardin didn’t set out to be a writer; he set out to find answers. He began to search for a solution that didn’t require a co-pay and didn’t come with side effects.
He moved from dispensing medication to Dispensing Truth. Combining his clinical understanding of the body with his theological understanding of the Bible, he compiled a “file of divine prescriptions”.
His Mission Today
Today, Dr. Girardin is no longer just handing out bottles of pills. He is an author on a mission to offer “truth, hope, and encouragement to the troubled, to the sick, and to the dying”.
